字字字英文教室的同學們,

延續上一篇的主題, TED中的一篇演說"Economic Reality Check",長達7頁的內容,傳達的意念只有一個. 我們從以下7個句子可以抓到脈絡:

1.          trash the system of crash the planet

2.          …the only thing that has actually remotely slowed down the relentless rise of carbon emissions over the last two to three decades is recession

3.      human beings have something of an appetite for novelty

4.          It’s a story about us, people, being persuaded to spend money we don’t have on things we don’t need to create impressions that won’t last on people we don’t care about.

5.          Will this keep out the giraffes?

6.         We’ve created systems, which systemically privilege, encourage, one narrow quadrant of the human soul and left the others unregarde

7.          It is about allowing ourselves the freedom to become fully human, recognizing the debt and breath of human psyche and building intuitions to protect Rembrandt’s fragile altruist within.

評論:

He is trying to persuade people to pursue meaningful prosperity over materialistic prosperity – haven’t we heard that before? Isn’t it a fact

that for a lot of people life without materiality is meaningless? He is idealistic and unrealistic, because people need to survive in the

present, no time and mind for the future.
