本 周的時代雜誌閱讀，Bruce老師挑選了一篇具分析及前瞻性的報導「Libya: How a No-Fly Zone Can Become a Red Hot Mess」，為不可不讀的文章！順便學習一下策略性單字用詞，例如: 拖延、佈局、局勢不穩、採納等等，這些單字在商業社會中也經常出現。

missile 是國際新聞少不了的單字，是飛彈的意思。國與國之間的政治、經濟關係，經常以武器/飛彈作後盾，missile 必須要看到其字根 mit/mis 是(傳送、發送)的意思。B. projectile 可以這樣分析: pro (向前、forward)+ jec (投、throw) + ile (名詞字尾)，projectile 是抛射物體，和missile 的意思最接近。volatile 是一個在化學上常見的字，意思是指(液體)易揮發的，通常用來比喻情勢不穩定 (國際、家庭、經濟、政治等)。C. textile 是紡織品，text (文章的本文) 或 texture (質地、結構) 和它有關。

coordinate 是合作的意思，可以這樣拆字: co (一起、一同、together) + order (規則、次序)，可以感覺到整句的意思是這些國家在巴黎共同協調面對利比亞內亂的問題。A, B, C 三個答案的單字都有類似的邏輯。A. cooperate 可以這樣分析: co (一起、一同) + operate (操作)，合作的意思；B. collaborate: con (一起、一同) + labor (勞力)，也是合作的意思；C. conjoin: co (一起、一同) +join(加入)，所以簡單來看就是一同加入。

deploy 是部署軍隊的意思: de (遠離、分開)+ ploy(摺)，整體的意思是展開的意思 (摺起的相反)。在這裡和它意思最接近的是 position，設置的意思，(pos: 放置)。B. postpone 是延後，這個字的分析是: post (後) + pon (放置)，所以放在後面便是延後的意思。C. progress 是一個國中單字，它可以這樣分析 pro (向前、forward)+ gress (行進、步行、go)，也就是前進的意思。我們也可以很容易地聯想到退步是 regress。

protracted 是(拖延、延長)的意思，其單字結構是 pro (向前) + tract (拖拉)， 因此向前拖拉很容易感覺到是拖延。A, B, C 三個單字都有類似的結構。B. extend 是 ex (外) + tend (延展)，也有延長、拖延的意思。prolong 的結構是: pro (向前) + long (長)，因此很容易感覺也有拖延的意思。drawn-out 也有類似的文字結構 draw 是也是(拖、拉)的意思，所以 drawn-out 是處於往外拉的狀態，也是延長的意思。

在單字結構的邏輯上，A, B, C 三個字都和 dismissed 一樣，都帶來負面的感覺。dismiss 是一個很不好學的字，因為其意義籠統，若從字根來看，它的結構是: dis (分離、away) + mis (傳送) 合起來是把東西、意見、做法打散的意思，在這裡是指利比亞狂人格逹費對於阿拉伯世界將對利比亞採取行動一事感到不認同。A. de + (往下) spis (看) 字的結構是往下看，也就是瞧不起的意思。B. dis (分離) + respect (尊敬): 意思很簡單: 不尊敬。C. dis (分離) + pel (推): 推開來、打散，其文字結構和 dismiss 相似。三個答案都和 dismiss 相似。
